Plan details The mid-day meal program is implemented as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department is its nodal department. The mid-day meal program is implemented with the joint resources of the Government of India and the State Government. The implementation of the mid-day meal program in Madhya Pradesh has been started since the year 1995. (Food was served as raw food grains) In the year 2001, oatmeal and khichdi were distributed as cooked food. From the year 2004, food started to be served as per the menu of interest. MP since year 2008 The program was implemented in all government and aided schools of the state. Since July 2017, the e-monitoring portal of Mid-Day Meal Program has been linked to the portal of the Department of Education. Accordingly, the honorarium of cooking of food grains to the groups and other necessary funds are being transferred directly to the bank accounts to the School Management Committee.
Beneficiary(Eg living below poverty line or senior citizens or learners etc.) All the government primary and middle school schools, grant schools and government registered madrasas and national child labor schools, students studying in the district, members of women self help groups, cooks.
Benefits to the beneficiary In primary schools – 100 grams of wheat / rice per student per day, Rs. 4.97 paisa per day is transferred by the state government directly to the bank accounts of the concerned, due to the closure of the school during the lockdown period, this amount has been transferred directly to the students’ accounts till the month of July.In Middle schools – 150 grams of wheat / rice per day, for the mid-day meal, the attached implementing agency (Women’s Self Help Group) will get Rs. 7.45 paisa per day is transferred by the state government directly to the bank accounts of the concerned, this amount has been transferred directly to the students’ accounts till the month of July due to the closure of the school during the lockdown period.From the month of August to October, under the food security allowance, 2 kg of pulses per pupil in primary school, 525 grams of soya oil and 3 kg of tur pulses in Middle school, 783 grams of soy oil, transport of dry ration material to the warehouse, determined by the Central Warehousing at the BRC level. Will be arranged BRCs will ensure access to the village / school level in collaboration with their subordinate teachers and through self-help groups / school management committee. For transportation and distribution of material, the total amount for the primary school is Rs. 16.30 / – and for the middle school the amount is Rs. 24.28 / – will be transferred directly to the account of the groups from the state level.The selected under-developed development blocks of the district are Bhagwanpura, Jhirnya and Badwah in which distribution of jaggery and peanut chikki (02 kg for 80 days at the rate of 25 grams per student) for the primary school students, first 40 days and second 40 days Will be done for.Similarly, the honorarium of Cooks by the government is Rs. 2000 / – per month is directly transferred to their bank accounts.
