Religious centre in the lap of Nature

Saints,sages and seekers of various religions and philosophies have meditated in the pious land of Dhar from time immemorial. Awdhoot baba Nityanand chose this land for self introspection.Native of Gujarat,Baba Nityanand belonged to a rich and prestigious family. IInstead of worldly life he was more inclined to religion and spiritualism.Wamdering around many places,he finally settled at Dhar.He meditated at various places of Dhar including Dhareshwar temple.Impressed with his devotion to God, then Dhar King Udaji Rao Panwar allotted him land near Devi Sagar pond to establish an ashram.Baba Nityanand built a Shiva temple,Yagya shala and a gaushala (cow ranch)over there. His glory attracted many people of Dhar and near by peacocks roaming around in morning hours. Trees of Mango,guavaand blackberry are in abundance here.Presently Ntyanand ashram campus has Baba’s Samadhi temple,Kanch mandir,GuptMahadev temple,Yagya shala and dining room.On the occasion of Guru poormima and Dussehra large number of devotees visit this place.
