    Anant Chaturdashi is the last day of 10 day Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations.

    Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh ! On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune ! On this day lord Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods! According to Hindu mythology whenever new work starts Lord Ganesh is memorized.

    Ganeshotsav, the festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi, ends after 10 days, on Anant Chaturdashi, which is also known as Ganesh Visarjan day ! On Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees bring an idol of Lord Ganesh at their home, which is worshipped for 10 days ! After that, on Anant Chaturdashi, devotees immerse the idol of Lord Ganesh in a water body, usually in lakes, rivers, seas, or ponds !

    However, Dhar has a unique twist to this great festival of Anant Chaturdashi, when people collectively take their idols for immersion ! Dhar administration in association with various organisation conduct a Chal Samaaroh (procession) .
    In this procession, the beautiful JHAANKIS (Tableau) created over a period of more than 10 days, are a sight to behold ! They are long, vibrant, and lifelike displays of scenes, places, iconic temples, etc. surrounding the idol of Lord Ganesh !
