Significance:
Gangaur is a festival celebrated by womenfolk to worship Gauri, the consort of Lord Shiva. Married women worship Goddess Gauri for the welfare, health and long life of their husband and happy married life, while the unmarried women worship her to get a good husband. The ladies decorate their hands with Mehendi by making various images. unmarried women put lamps inside the earthen pot also known as Ghudlia. Colourful traditional attires,folk songs and enthusiasm make the festival of Gangaur a memorable one.
